Location: San Juan Mountains
Difficulty: Moderate
Directions: Outside Silverton, same cutoff as Clear Lake, or begin outside Telluride
Time: About 2 hours, one-way. 10 miles.

Trail Description

You can begin this trail from either the Telluride side or the Silverton side. It can be made part of a loop by taking Imogene Pass the other leg of the trip. I prefer taking Imogene Pass to Telluride and then turning on Highway 145 and heading to the town of Ophir, where the trail will begin.

Very good job! We are going there in September to do the Island Lake and Ice Lakes hike off this road close to Ophir! Excellent video!
